I am excited to be establishing and funding an environmental ethics fellowship at Cambridge University. The Schweitzer Fellowship is named in honour of the great humanitarian and Nobel Laureate Dr Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965).
The Schweitzer Fellow will enjoy accommodation at Cambridge's oldest college, Peterhouse, as well as membership of the Senior Common Room, full dining rights, and open access to all University of Cambridge amenities.
This initiative is intended to create a permanent platform for scholars to advance their work in environmental ethics while engaging with the rich academic community at the University of Cambridge.
Update: Professor John Nolt, a distinguished philosopher and environmental ethicist (University of Tennessee), has been awarded the 2024 Schweitzer Fellowship.
